About these videos

These are short animated films made with Claude. In most of them, Claude drew the frames in code and often made the sound too. Each card links to the original post on X or Reddit. They run from a few seconds to over ten minutes, in styles from paper cut-outs and painterly scenes to pixel art.

Most films here are a single program. Kevin Ngo says Claude "drew every frame of this animation in JavaScript" (@kevin_t_ngo on X). Another maker reports a 6.5-minute film of 9,363 frames drawn by JavaScript with no video or image models, a score Claude composed in Python, and a first version that "looked bad" until Claude reworked it after feedback (@superalesha on X). For named art styles, the MIT-licensed huashu-art-motion skill has 36 style recipes and 9 explainer grammars; its docs are mostly in Chinese (huashu-art-motion).

Read the credits in each post. Some makers bring in a song from a music generator and use Claude for the visuals and lyric sync, as in Vincent Flibustier's French song (@vinceflibustier on X). Then watch for characters that stay the same across shots, pacing that leaves room to breathe, and sound that fits the cut.

Step-by-step write-ups by other makers are in written tutorials.

Questions

Can Claude make an animated short film?

Yes. Claude writes a program that draws each frame, often with music made in code too. Kevin Ngo says Claude drew every frame of his film in JavaScript (@kevin_t_ngo on X).

Do these films use AI video generators?

Check each post. Some makers say they used none: Alexey Fateev says his 6.5-minute film used no video or image models (@superalesha on X). Others credit outside tools in the post: Vincent Flibustier made his song with Suno (@vinceflibustier on X), and Ring Hyacinth had Nano Banana Pro make background drafts and paper textures (@ring_hyacinth on X).
