View on X55 years of microprocessors, at true scale 🎞️ From the MP944 (1970, F-14 Tomcat) to the Cerebras WSE-2 (2.6 trillion transistors): 30 chips scrolling by, inspired by the famous “Star Size Comparison” videos. How it was made: 1️⃣ Research and animation: done entirely in a chat with Claude (Opus 5.5). Every figure is sourced: transistor count, launch date, designers, machines, compute power. 2️⃣ Capture: the animation recorded to MP4 with OBS Studio. 3️⃣ Final edit: Claude cropped, trimmed and added the soundtrack with ffmpeg, with the last chip landing right on the musical climax. No code written by hand, just about ten rounds of feedback in plain language. The striking part: at true scale, next to the WSE-2, the first microprocessors shrink below a pixel. Music: “Tubular Bells (Part One)” – Mike Oldfield, original 1973 recording, Virgin Records. Non-commercial use.
